Do these links (in the same context) go to the same page?

ADA Assistance links

UPDATED: 5/4/2021 - Siteimprove shows a link box similar to the one below and once you click the Start review button it will ask if the first link and the second link both go to the same destination.

ADA Assistance links

Even though the link destinations are not identical, the links do take the user to the same page, click the YES button.  Siteimprove will indicate this is NOT a problem and will move this issue to the RESOLVED ISSUES section.

    Pages with Manual Alias' Applied

If Siteimprove indicates a link like http://it.nv.gov/web/ and there is another link to http://it.nv.gov/stateweb/ and/or a third link to http://it.nv.gov/Helpdesks/Web/info/1-Stateweb.

Open up the workarea and navigate to the page. If on the Alias Tab for the content block you see something similar to the image below, you can answer YES to this question and Siteimprove will indicate it is not a problem and move it to the RESOLVED ISSUES section.

    • Manual Alias Example

The reason this passes is because the information in the content block, in context, is exactly the same and the user is being served the exact same content.

Reviewing the content to see if the context is the same

Another method to use to see if you can pass this potential issue, is to review the pages Siteimprove indicates may have potential issues.  Open them up in a browser window and compare.  Is the information the same information? If so, answer YES to this question and Siteimprove will indicate the potential issue is not a problem and will move it to the RESOLVED issues section.

If the information that will be served to the user is different on the pages, answer NO to the question and Siteimprove will move the potential issue to the ISSUES section.

        ADA Documents Smart Form

If in Siteimprove you see something similar to the image below, in the workarea navigate to the page it refers to.

        • Links are not the same in context example with pdf highlighted

Is the content block using the ADA Documents Smart Form? If it is, in Siteimprove click the START REVIEW button and answer NO because the list of documents shows they are not the same document and the smart form doesn't allow you to enter separate document titles for each document.  Siteimprove will move the item from the POTENTIAL ISSUES section to the ISSUES Section.  This is a stateweb issue that you are cannot resolve. Move on to the next potential issue.

        • Links are not the same in context example

Same Documents in both PDF and Word (or two different document types with same content)

The links Siteimprove is reviewing are meeting agendas that have been posted in both Microsoft Word format and PDF format.  The information in the documents are the same.

        • Same doc different file types providing same information

Since the information in both documents is the same, in context, answer YES to this question and Siteimprove indicate this is NOT a problem and will move it from the POTENTIAL ISSUES section to the RESOLVED ISSUES section.
